Peek-a-boo and Spooky Canyons

For Presiden'ts' Day weekend, I decided to spice things up a bit for the weekend cat trip.  Instead of the typical '2 bald dudes and their 2 cats' we changed up the group dynamic.  A lot.

For this long weekend, I decided to bring both Kenneth and Ember and Steph came along too with her dog, Ice.  2 people and 2 cats and a dog made for some very tight and stressful sleeping arrangements in the back of the truck.  It worked out well though; it was super cold at night.

First we cruised down towards the Rochester Art Panel just north of Emery, UT.  After a quick hike we got to the panel.  Pretty amazing stuff.  Over 3000 years old.

After exploring the panel and the creekbed nearby, we motored up and over towards Escalante, UT.  We scouted out the trailhead for the slot canyons and headed off to bed.

The next day, we hiked up Peek-a-boo and Spooky canyons.  I don't have too much to say about them that pictures can't convey much better.  Peek-a-boo had some great water-sculpted features and Spooky had a long section of tall and skinny narrows.  The canyons were a bit crowded, however, and I doubt I would return.  There are many more to explore without multitudes of people.
